Call a coin of one of the greatest opponents of Rome and Carthage their own!
One great power was not enough for him! Pyrrhus fought as king of Epirus not only against Rome, but also messed with Carthage! In addition, he rejected the Macedonian royal throne in order to support the Greek cities of Sicily in the fight against the Carthaginians instead. He expelled the Carthaginians from there in 278 BC and was proclaimed king of Sicily in the same year. The coin offered is from the period shortly after he began his reign and is exclusively available from us! It was minted only barely three years, because the Greek cities of the island turned against the king after a period of military dictatorship. In 276 BC Pyrrhus left the island, which meant an end to his coinage.
