Duke Georg II of Saxe-Meiningen, was the reigning Duke of the Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, a reformer and promoter of the theatrical arts, theatre director, stage designer, cultural politician and a patron of music, also known as the "Theatre Duke".
However, George II was also a great reformer of politics in his duchy.
