Regensburg

Regensburg

Regensburg (Ratisbon), located between upper and lower Bavaria on the Danube, is of ancient origin, as early as the second century. It became a free city of the Empire in 1180 and received coining privileges in 1230. By the 13th century it was perhaps the most flourishing south German city.
