Jülich-Berg describes the connection based on personal union between the duchies Jülich and Berg during the times between 1423 and 1795. Both territories had conjoint dukes with one vote in the Imperial Council of Princes. Jülich and Berg had always been variously connected with other territories. Formally, however, they stayed two different dukedomes.
